Ultralight Flight, Kauai Aerosports

This trip with Kauai Aerosports was perhaps the most exilerating air tour I have ever been on in my life. That is saying a lot for someone who has been on luxury helicopters and airplanes all over the state of Hawaii. Although not for the faint of heart, this tour is bound to leave those who are brave enough to take it in a state of absolute awe...

Napali & Ni'ihau, Blue Dolphin Charters

This trip with the Blue Dolphin Charters was a bit different from most of the Napali Snorkel cruises because after they toured the Napali Coastline they set off across the channel to the island of Niiha'u and the nearby atoll Lehua. Here we were greated with some of the clearest water and some of the largest fish that can be found anywhere in the state. The weather conditions were excellent and it turned out to be a fabulous day.

Wailele Luau, Westin Maui

The Westin Wailele Luau left little to be desired when it came to the food, or the entertainment. Instead of the standard buffet, the Westin Luau has table service. All of the food and drinks will be brought to the table so your conversation and entertainment will not have to be broken up with trips to the bar to get another round. The location provides excellent views of the sunset and the entertainment was of very high quality.

Napali Snorkel Excursion, Kauai Sea Tours

The boat "Lucky Lady" that is operated by Kauai Sea Tours turned out to be ideal for this excursion up the Napali Coast. It is an ideal blend between a large power boat and a smaller sailing catamaran. We left from Port Allen Harbor early in the morning and made the cruise past the famous Western shoreline of Kauai. The trip starts out with a large stretch of sandy coastline which fades into some of the tallest, most beautiful sea cliffs you will find anywhere in the world...

Napali Coast Snorkel, Captain Andy's

Going snorkeling with Captain Andy's is always a treat. This company is one of the original companies to offer trips on the Napali Coastline on sailing catamarans. The crew was very attentive to the needs of the passengers and made sure that everyone was comfortable throughout. We were even able to put up the sails and do a downwind run on the way back. It was a fantastic day!

Sunset Dinner Cruise, Spirit of Lahaina

Going out of Lahaina Harbor and enjoying the four island view of the West side of Maui is always fun. Tonight the Spirit of Lahaina did not disappoint. The crew brought the first round of drinks around as soon as we got out of the harbor and the top deck made for a great place to take in the sunset with the islands of Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and Kahoolawe in the distance. On the back of the boat were large BBQ's where the crew prepared the nights meal...

Napali Coast Snorkel, Catamaran Kahanu

Going snorkeling on the Catamaran Kahanu felt more like going out on one of my friends private boats then most commercial charters do. The crew consisted of the Captain and the First Mate and the boat was large enough to be comfortable yet small enough to be able to tour very close to the shoreline. The crew shared some fantastic stories and facts about the area throughout and I think it is very safe to say that I was not the only one on the boat that had a good time.

Sunset Dinner Sail, Holo Holo Charters

Today we went on a Dinner Cruise with Holo Holo Charters. This cruise took a very scenic route that went along the Napali Coastline. This stretch of coastline is one of the most beautiful areas in the world and has been chosen as the set for many Hollywood films. We enjoyed dinner and cocktails as we took in the sunset over the island of Ni'ihau.

Molokini Express Early AM, Kai Kanani

This early express morning snorkel trip with the Kai Kanani left from the Makena area and was able to take us out to Molokini as well as Turtle Town and have us back by 9:00am. The large catamaran provided plenty of deck space for the group to spread out as well as easy entry into the water from the swim step in the front or the gate on the side.

Learning to Wakesurf, Wake Maui

Wake Maui is a company that offers wakeboarding and wakesurfing tours off of the western coastline of Maui. Although they have been around for a while I have never been out with them before. I elected to try the wakesurf board and I was impressed with how fun and easy it was. Wake Maui offers private as well as shared wake boarding sessions.

Going snorkeling with Aqua Adventures was a great start to what turned out to be an amazing day. We experienced smooth sailing on the way out to Molokini and excellent water clarity upon arrival. After we were done with our snorkeling here the boat continued on to turtle arches. We spent some time here swimming through the arches and observing the sea turtles.

Deep Sea Fishing, Kai Akua Sportfishing Charters

This morning I met the "Kai Akua" at the Lahaina Harbor hours before the sun came up to embark on their deep sea sports fishing charter. The fisherman of Hawaii rely on deep sea buoys known as FAD's (fish aggregation devices) to attract the majority of the fish that are caught. The buoys provides shelter and the algae that grows on the cable provides food for small marine creatures. The larger pelagic (carnivorous) fish that are sought after by sports fisherman are commonly found around these buoys feeding on these creatures. Today we went to the SO buoy that is located far off of the southern coastline of Lanai. We got lucky and landed quite a few Mahi-Mahi.
